Prarna is from Sindh, first generation American, and grew up in a multi-generational home outside of Chicago. She earned a Masters of Design in Fashion, Body & Garment in 2015 from SAIC. Mentored under visual artist Nick Cave, she learned to sublime idea, thought, and feeling into what can be held.

Post-studies, Prarna spent time at two conceptual design houses, BLESS in Paris and Susan Cianciolo in New York. Sensing a personal, idealogical disconnect between imagination and commerce, she immersed herself in the world of digital strategy and gained familiarity with contemporary brand development practices.

She is currently preparing the launch of p r a rnaa (@prarnaa_nyc), a project rooted in diasporic identity. The premier collection includes genderless apparel and lifestyle comforts that hold space for the hero’s journey of coming home to oneself.
